theres a section of rundown buildings (strip mall) in downey, ca. walking distance from downtown downey. i was thinking itd be a great idea to start a club here, perhaps two. one 18+ and another 21+. theres a pool hall 21+ on the same street and a movie theatre a few blocks down. a parking structure with many lots from local stores around there.
any tips on starting it? where to get funds? how to finance? security? etc?

as far as funding, i'd take out a loan, big risk involved in that but unless you have the money upfront no other way to do it.
as far as actually owning the place , first make sure you have cool bartenders to higher
second pay hot chicks to stand at the doors with some nice music. dont let people know your paying the girls but let the girls know if they wanna invite there freinds they'll get in free and have a drink on the house or something. for every one hot chick there will be 10 ugly guys. simple math.
Next i'd advartise to the local radiostation, get them to come down every week or so to do the show there gets you good in advertising. also make a girls get in free type of thing and for every guy that brings a girl to the club gets in free. dollar drink nights also help against competition.
